Utilizing this property, they can be activated by sensing an increase in the surrounding temperature, such as in liquids or gases, or by being heated through electric current. By using SAES's SmartFlex springs and wires, as well as actuators made from them, it is possible to achieve miniaturization, energy savings, and noise reduction in products.
